UChicago Research in Biological Sciences

Through UChicago’s Research in Biological Sciences (RIBS) program, I received intensive hands-on training in molecular, microbiological, and cell biological techniques. I worked with advanced laboratory equipment and experimental methods, including CRISPR and CRISPRi for gene knockout and gene regulation.

I then worked with my group to develop an independent research project investigating how environmental conditions influence the behavior of vinegar eels. By exploring a niche topic with limited existing research, we aim to generate original observations that can contribute to this understudied area.
